PROCEDURE
INSTRUCTIONS

TO PREPARE FOR
BOTOX

  • Come to the appointment with a clean face and skip the makeup.

  • Be prepared to remain upright for 4-6 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications (with doctor's consent)for 1-2 weeks if possible.

  • No vigorous exercise day of treatment.

  • Avoid alcohol 1-2 days before/after injection to reduce bruising and swelling risk.

Botox injections do not typically cause bruising or bleeding, there is a small risk as with any needle injection. Side-effects are typically minimal if any at all. Pain, redness, & swelling are most common. Mild headache is very rare and can resolve quickly.

TO PREPARE FOR
FILLER TREATMENT

  • Eat well & hydrate before you arrive so you feel your best and your body is fueled to heal.

  • Come to your appointment with a clean face, please no makeup! This will minimize risk of infection and contamination. Cleanse skin and skip makeup.

  • Avoid any dental work TWO weeks prior. The oral bacteria released can cause filler nodules/lumps, even weeks or months later.

  • Avoid vaccines TWO weeks prior. Rarely facial swelling has occurred in filler patients who got the COVID vaccine. This seems to be temporary. No one knows if there is a "safe" period for receiving filler around the time of COVID vaccine. Best to avoid any risk.

  • Avoid alcohol 1-2 days prior and 24 hours post-injection.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications (with doctor's consent) and herbal supplements 1-2 weeks prior (including Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Vitamin E, CoQ10, Ginkgo, St. John's Wort, Omega, Garlic, Fish Oil).

*You may take Arnica Montana 24 hours prior to injection to reduce swelling & bruising

POST CARE

Follow these post-care instructions for best results and speedy healing.

  • Take time to rest! Your body heals best this way.

  • Use ice if needed. A wrapped pack for 5 minutes, 3 times/day. Take Tylenol for soreness. Peak swelling occurs around day 2.

  • No vigorous exercise or activity for 2-3 days after treatment, or when swelling subsides. Give your body time to rest & heal.

  • Keep it clean and treat it gently. Do not apply any makeup for the rest of the treatment day. Do not massage or manipulate the treatment area.

  • Try not to sleep directly on the area filler was placed for 2-3 days. Sleep on your back with your head elevated if possible. For lip filler, no kissing for 24 hours.

Side-effects can include bruising, bleeding swelling, and tenderness at the injection site. A rare side-effect could include infection of the site. I am very meticulous with the aseptic technique to prevent this.

Botox and dermal fillers have not been tested in pregnancy or breastfeeding, therefore I will not treat you if pregnant or breastfeeding, or are trying to become pregnant. Your health & safety are the most important things!
